Kia is filling out the bottom of its EV lineup. The EV2 is the smallest and most affordable model in the family so far, built in Žilina, Slovakia, and aims squarely at the same segment as the Renault 4, Volvo EX30 and the upcoming VW ID.2 – and gets there before VW manages to launch theirs.
Prices: three versions at launch
The base version Standard Range starts from 331,900 kr. Kia has chosen to include a heat pump and metallic paint as standard even on the base version, rather than luring buyers in with a low price and then charging for things that other manufacturers often include from the start.

The Long Range version with a 61.0 kWh battery and up to 448 km of range is not available at launch and will follow later in 2026. An official price for it has not yet been set.
Range and charging
At launch only the Standard Range battery of 42.2 kWh is available, good for up to 317 km according to WLTP. Fast charging from 10 to 80 percent takes approximately 29 minutes. The larger 61.0 kWh variant with 448 km of range will arrive at a later stage – so anyone wanting maximum range right now will have to wait, or look at the EV3 instead.
Kia EV2 vs Kia EV3 – which one suits you?
The obvious alternative for Swedish buyers is of course Kia EV3, already widely available and about 25 cm longer than the EV2. Here is how they actually differ:

The difference of nearly 100,000 kr between the base versions makes the EV2 a clear first choice for those who commute in the city and do not need the range or space that the EV3 offers. Those who drive long distances, or want the best range in the class today, are still better served by the EV3 – the EV2's large battery has not even launched yet.
Equipment and interior
The EV2 is available in both a 4-seat and a 5-seat configuration, with a boot capacity of 362–403 litres depending on version. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) is available on the Plus versions, allowing the car to be used as a power source for tools or equipment. The GT Line version additionally gets Digital Key 2.0 and a 360-degree camera.
Delivery and leasing
Orders are open at Swedish Kia dealers, with first deliveries in spring 2026. Those who prefer to lease can take out private leasing from 3,495 kr/month (36 months, 1,000 mil/year).
