Kia PV5 Cargo

PV5's most innovative feature is the modular cargo solution. The cargo section can be swapped out entirely – the same chassis can carry a van module, a refrigeration unit, a passenger module or custom solutions. This means a company can use the same vehicle for deliveries during the day and passenger transport in the evening.

The Cargo version offers approximately 4,000 litres of cargo volume and 1,000 kg max payload. The flat cargo floor (thanks to the flat battery pack in the chassis floor) provides full standing height in the cargo area – an advantage over conventional vans with the engine mounted beneath the floor.

With V2G technology, the PV5 can act as a mobile power station at work sites – powering tools, lighting and equipment directly from the vehicle's battery.

Kia PV5 for Business

PV5 is designed for businesses looking to electrify their vehicle fleet. The benefits for Swedish companies are significant:

  • Lower running costs – electricity costs a fraction of diesel per mile
  • Low-emission zones – free access to Swedish cities' planned low-emission zones
  • Tax benefits – reduced vehicle tax and benefit-in-kind for electric vehicles
  • Carbon reporting – zero direct CO₂ emissions
  • Lower maintenance – no oil changes, fewer wearing parts, regenerative braking
  • 800V charging – minimise charging stops during the working day

Kia also offers fleet management solutions with telematics, optimised route planning and centralised charging control – perfect for companies with multiple vehicles.

FAQ about Kia PV5

The PV5 is expected to launch in Europe during 2025–2026. An exact date for the Swedish market has not been confirmed, but Kia Sweden has indicated that the model will be offered.

PBV stands for Purpose Built Vehicle – a new platform designed specifically for commercial vehicles. It features a skateboard chassis with batteries in the floor and enables modular superstructures that can be swapped depending on the application.

Yes, thanks to the modular concept, the PV5 can be fitted with a passenger module with seats and windows. This makes it a combination of commercial vehicle during the day and passenger transport in the evening.

With 800V architecture, the PV5 is estimated to be able to charge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 25 minutes at a 250 kW charger. This minimises downtime during the working day.

Estimated prices: from approximately 450 000 kr excl. VAT. Final prices confirmed at launch. With tax benefits for electric commercial vehicles in Sweden, the effective cost may be lower.
