Kia Sportage Design

Exterior with character

The fifth-generation Sportage introduced Kia's new "Opposites United" design philosophy. The wide tiger nose grille flows into boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights that stretch across the entire front. The roofline slopes elegantly rearward, giving a coupé-like profile despite the generous interior space. The car looks significantly more premium than its predecessor and can compete visually with more expensive alternatives such as the BMW X1 and Audi Q3.

Premium interior

Inside, the instrument panel is dominated by a curved display with dual 12.3-inch screens – the same concept as in the Kia EV6. Material quality has been elevated with soft surfaces, ambient lighting and a clean centre climate control system. The GT-Line version adds a sporty steering wheel, sport seats and metal accents. Rear space is class-leading with ample leg and headroom.

Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrid

The Sportage PHEV combines a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine with an electric motor and a 13.8 kWh battery for a combined system output of 265 hk. The electric range is approximately 70 km according to WLTP – sufficient for most daily commutes.

Charging is done via a Type 2 connector at up to 7.2 kW, giving a full charge in approximately 2 hours. With all-wheel drive and 265 hk, the PHEV version is the most powerful Sportage and is ideal for those who want to combine electric city driving with petrol-powered long-distance travel.

The PHEV version also benefits from a reduced vehicle tax and lower benefit-in-kind value compared to the petrol version, making it attractive as a company car.
