Kia Sorento Design

The Sorento has a robust, confident design with a vertical tiger nose grille and powerful shoulder lines. It looks like a car that can handle everything from motorway driving to forest roads – and it does. With its 4,810 mm length and 1,900 mm width, it has an impressive road presence.

The interior is spacious and well-crafted with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a comfortable driver's position. Material quality has taken a significant step up with soft surfaces, Nappa leather upholstery in higher trim levels and ambient lighting. The third row of seats folds completely flat into the floor – a clever engineering trick that maximises load capacity.

Kia Sorento as a Family Car

The Sorento is designed with the family in mind. With 7 seats across three rows, it can transport the whole family plus guests. The third row is best suited for children or shorter journeys, but represents good value compared to buying an even larger vehicle.

In the 5-seat configuration you get 693 litres of luggage space – among the best in class. ISOFIX anchors are available in the second and third rows (on the 7-seat version). Safety systems include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind spot warning with evasive steering assist and lane centring.

With AWD as standard on all versions in Sweden and a 2,000 kg towing capacity (HEV), the Sorento can tow a caravan or boat trailer – perfect for the active Swedish family.

Kia Sorento Plug-in Hybrid

The Sorento PHEV delivers 265 hk from its hybrid system and has an electric range of approximately 57 km (WLTP). That is sufficient for daily commuting in most cases, and on longer journeys the petrol engine acts as a backup.

Charging is done with up to 7.2 kW AC, giving a full charge in approximately 2 hours. Note that the towing capacity is reduced to 1,500 kg on the PHEV version (compared to 2,000 kg on the HEV) due to the extra battery weight.

The PHEV Sorento benefits from reduced vehicle tax and benefit-in-kind value – a significant advantage for those driving a company car.
